Hidden away in the bushland
For a hundred million years
Seen only before as fossils
And now they reappear
Many secrets are held in these mountains
And this is just one more
The giant pines of Wollemi
From the days of the dinosaur
The giant pines of Wollemi
From the days of the dinosaur
Deep in a secret gully
Some are forty metres tall
Safely growing on ledges
From sheltered sandstone walls
Will we learn from their discovery
Or is it best we never saw
The giant pines of Wollemi
From the days of the dinosaur
The giant pines of Wollemi
From the days of the dinosaur |
Let’s hope these pines of Wollemi
Keep reaching for the sky
Hidden away for so long
They continue to multiply
On the Mountains’ list of treasures
May they stay forever more
The giant pines of Wollemi
From the days of the dinosaur
The giant pines of Wollemi
From the days of the dinosaur
